Some of us are planning to unleash the untold desires of konji after the quarantine. I suggest you read this. Fornicatery (Fornication and Adultery)- the major classifications of illicit sex with varying sub-classes such as sadomasochism, tri-gamy, LGBTQIAPK… etc., are the vices that plague many people ( even “Christians”) today. There is an American-millennial saying that goes: “if it feels good, do it” this is to say, it is okay to be solely sensually driven. This completely opposes what scriptures instruct us.

Galatians 5:19,25 (NLT)When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

It should be common knowledge among we Christians that God created the art and act of sex to be enjoyed in the confines of marriage. However, since the fall of man, the Devil had quite some access to carry out his destructive activities through the soul of man and out came perversion of diverse kinds. Perversion is simply the counterfeiting of the original. The devil can only tell a lie because he knows of the truth. You can only pervert if you know the original design. The devil spent quite some time with God and had an idea of God’s intent concerning sex (our case in point).

Proverbs 6:32 (NLT) But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys his soul.

Now, unknown to the one who has been fooled to thinking s/he is just having recreational sex, they are destroying their souls: giving the devil more access to their faculties of reasoning (will, emotions and sense of judgement). Please know that the devil is masterful at his purpose which is to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10) but he only starts from the soul of a (wo)man enticing them with the freedom that lust offers and thus making them slaves of that very freedom he cunningly offered. That (wo)man then furthers the purposes of their new master, birthing the reality of perversions: raising dysfunctional families.

Romans 1:21–24,26–29 (NLT) Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused. (23) And instead of worshipping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshipped idols made to look like mere people, or birds and animals and snakes. (24) So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. (26) That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. (27) And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. (28) When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. (29) Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behaviour, and gossip.

The problem was never just about the sex itself but what(or who) we worshipped in the core of our hearts. The destruction of the soul begins with the loss of divine purpose. That starts when we stop beholding God in worship. The problem isn’t the sin (missing the mark, falling short of attaining God’s purposes) itself, it is in forsaking the companionship and company of the Lord — our first love.

The more we spend time abiding with God, the more our hearts will be transformed. Stay your thoughts on God and holiness will spring forth in your acts. Willingly spend time constantly and consistently in the worship of our Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:17–18 (KJV) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord

Sin is easy when we do not place value on our souls. As we worship God, our faith is built and God’s divine values of Love are superimposed on our souls. As we allow our souls to be tamed by His grace, our entire being no longer finds solace in sin. It comes under the perfect control of God’s spirit of liberty. The statue of liberty isn’t the spirit of liberty so you cannot act like you are free when in fact, you are bound. The only way to being obedient to God’s word is in spending time fellowshipping at His throne of grace and his mercy will quicken His word in your heart. It will pleasurably constrain you to do contrary to His will. It will transform you into His very image and then shall you discover that sin, is beneath you. Hell desperately craves for you nearly as much as God desires you. You can say “no" but then hell won’t have to struggle to keep you.

Pray like this: Dear, father, I am so sorry for all I have done. I know that I have brought destruction to my soul but by your mercy, you wrote to me today. I repent from my sins. Let my life bring glory to you, Lord. Amen!
