it is not about you

It is a new year but like every new day, we sometimes carry the burdens of yesterday and that is why many of us sleep but never rest and it’s the very reason we wake up tired. We must learn to let go so we can let God work in us. In this write up, we will be talking about yielding to God to birth His purposes.
Psalms 126:1 (NKJV) When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream.
It is very possible to be in a new year, dispensation, job or level but order our lives without any result of change. This could be because we are trying to do the work of today with the strength of yesterday. The lord can turn the sufferings of yesterday but we may not know it because we weren’t expecting. We have been hard-wired to work for everything. The true labour of every Christian is the labour into rest whereby we receive the promises of God in faith and run with it in rest (this rest here does not mean the passivity of doing nothing, but a full assurance that God is in support of bringing it to pass).
Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV) Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
In this not so new year anymore, we must really learn how to take cues from the Lord through the Spirit of His Word, we must learn how to work without struggling (even though we may need to wage a good warfare. You can win without struggling). We must learn to follow God. The scripture above says, “not by your power” “nor by might” but “by my spirit” it then means that the combination of our power and might is not nearly as efficient as the spirit of God to take on mountains and Goliaths, we will need to do away with our strength and take hold of God’s spirit. It then means, we will no longer be fellowshipping as usual but as led by God, we won’t be taking on business deals as we used to without running it by Him. In other words, we will be allowing the conversations and businesses of our lives to be run on the strength of the spirit of God. You may say that “ in this life, for you to be successful, you need to have the right connections, learn to network… etc.”. If you already have a network of people, good for you. You can preach to them. I am saying to you that the man who has promised to help can and will fail you. God is saying to you that He is interested in your life.
1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Allow the spirit of God come upon you (if you don’t already experience Him) and allow yourself to be led by him. Jesus Christ has told us to cast all our cares of tomorrow on Him because He cares about us and really wants to help. You don’t need the connection of any man. But you may say like Mary “I don’t know anyone”, let me say to you again that “the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you”.
Psalms 23:3 (NKJV) He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Let go of the guilt, let go of the pain; the hurt, or the troubles that others may have caused you. Allow the Holy Spirit overshadow you so you can fulfill the purposes of God for your life. When you realise that God cannot fail and that He has a reputation to protect, you will realise that it is not about you. Allow yourself to be powered by God.

Pray this: Lord, this year, let’s be buddies. But much more, you lead, and please help me follow. Amen
