Lonely?

Sometimes, our social media posts of the life we live (which can be one-sided at times) are revelations of our insecurities. As quoted in the previous post, the relationship between depression and loneliness still stands valid. stands valid. This post is a continuum (a sequel if you may) that seeks to reveal a concealed truth that you are not alone and God is here with you.

1Peter 5:7 (AMP) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

There’s usually this anxiety that accompanies the bleak feeling of loneliness. Its this feeling I believe is an underlying cause of depression. It lies to you that everyone is doing fine but you. It tempts you to try unhealthy things in the false hope that you will better. People join cults, orgies and so forth just because they want to feel among them. Little did they know that there is a void in man that only God can fill.

Hebrews 4:15 (AMP) For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sin

God is your friend and he is right here in this present moment. We Christians many a time, know of this but we intentionally decide not to acknowledge God solely because we’ve somehow been led to believing that He is intangible. God is not an imaginary guy up there that we Christians refer to as “our heavenly father”. Trust me (if you can), I have been lonely, depressed and have inflicted injuries on myself because I believed that no one cared or at least knew how I felt exactly.Believe me (I sincerely hope you will), He knows how you feel. One of the greatest revelations of God’s Love I encountered was in times where I was “walking through the shadows of death” but guess what? I saw that he was with me every step of the way. God sometimes blesses us with an opportunity of being alone but we mistake it for loneliness. It is in this “wilderness” that he oftentimes reveals himself.

Change what and/or whom you are looking at and set your eyes on him because; He does care for you; He is your only unfailing help and He is capable of perfecting your faith in him. Don’t look up, don’t look to neither should you look about. Look within, He is there (in every heartbeat, in every breath you draw). As king David will say, “commune with your heart”- that’s where he resides. He can hear your ponderings. Allow the scriptures to comfort your heart.

Hebrews 13:5b (AMP) for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!].
