One of the ways to get out of a relationship is by first convincing yourself that the person in question, never loved you. We many times mistake the nature of God to that of a man in that a man promises and fails either because of a lack in his ability or because of the deceit in his heart. God ain’t like that.

Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

This is worthy of note that God doesn’t say a thing just to make you feel good about yourself or get you high on an emotional rollercoaster. Before you acknowledge the promise of a man, you, first of all, take a look at his ability to pull it off. When a doctor, says he is gonna prescribe a pill for your headache, you do not question his ability nor prognosis. You accept it in good faith because he was trained to be a doctor.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

My dear friend, the reason we doubt God especially when He instructs us, is because we have little or no confidence in His person (integrity). When God directs us, He is not doing Himself a favour. He is giving you counsel because He has your best interest at heart. He is not just an able God, He is a concerned father.

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He, Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

God wants to bless you but he wants you to know him first so that when He gives you His promise and instruction, you will be worry-free working with Him to bring it to pass. And when trouble hits (because the journey will not always be rosy), He promises never to leave you and more importantly, He means it! You have to learn to trust Him by constantly spending time with Him.

Trust is giving your heart to someone knowing that they could break it but hoping that they won’t. Based on history in His dealings with man through scripture and through my personal experiences, I have come to a conclusion for anyone who will believe; God will never break your heart. Trust Him, you’ll see!

Pray this: Lord, please become more real to me.
