Play (the rhythm of convictions)

No one is really without hope or aspiration. The story usually commences with the euphoria of our lofty dreams. We often times imagine our ideas will run very smoothly until life hits us hard. Then does the Play truly begin.

As Christians (please note the spiritual context) we must clearly understand the distinction between that which we propose to do and that which he has purposed in us to do. Frustration “sometimes” comes when there is a conflict of interest in that which God wants to do in us and what we want to do at the expense of his predestination. This alone suggests that God can tell you were to live (like Abraham); Who to marry (like Prophet Hosea) etc. God can predetermine our livelihood for us not because he is a control freak but because he is good and actually knows way better than we do (despite us having the mind of Christ) . Sometimes the frustration comes having started with God but end up in themselves. There is a system of thought and governance we belong to as believers and thus must take our cue from.

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things so ever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (pardon the KJV). Let us assume a trending case in point. The testing of waters in relationships. Please note that this case in point can be transposed to various facets of life if only attention is given to the lesson here.

I have been opportune to counsel some people with regard to their relationships (martially intended relationships and even already established ones). The male or the female (which are the only gender the bible recognizes- no pun intended) oftentimes come to me saying that they don’t feel like they should be in that relationship anymore. Yet they would claim at inception that it was God leading them into it. If it was really God, do you not know that the works of your faith will be tried? Scripture that Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all(Psa 34:19 ) This scripture is as new testament as it can get. The focus is not in the affliction but in the deliverance from it.

So let me kuku shake the table of you folks that are in relationships or about to enter, when God speaks to you about the person you are to date and you are really sure in your spirit (not emotionally nor hornyly inspired o), expect to win battles together, be determined with the help of the Holy Spirit to unite your differences. When afflictions come, seek the deliverance that has been given to you at salvation. Your willingness to see the marriage through to the end must be greater than your desire to even start dating. Your constant meditation on what God has assured you with, will steady the rhythm of your convictions. Keep yourself in fellowship with God and be sure to move as he does. Always do a heart check with God and ensure that you are light enough for him to consistently lead you (when you became a Christian, you gave the Lord permission to will and to do through you so why have you been holding back like a broken record?).

Keep your heart sensitive to his leading. Allow His inspirations be your aspirations. Through you, let him Play.

1Tim 1:18–19 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

Prayer point: Lord, please find full expression in me. Amen
